If you like to know who's calling before you've run frantically round the house or office looking for your phone then perhaps you should be assigning different ringtones to all your contacts so you know if the call is important or not just by the music.

Tone Manager allows you to do this, using a similar contact manager system to Outlook.

Just separate all your numbers into folders eg business contacts, friends, family, and then give each folder its own ringtone.

Probably the best feature is that if a contact is saved in more than one folder eg you work with your dad or your best friend is your brother then you can choose which of the categories takes priority.

The software works by updating the ringtone field of the relevant contact category which means it doesn't need to be running constantly in the background.

Set Pocket PC ringtones based on Outlook categories! This is a small app for the Pocket PC to choose different ringtones for your contacts on a per-category basis, with the option to choose which category takes priority in the event of a contact belonging to more than one category.

The app DOESN'T need to stay resident in your phone, it simply updates the 'Ringtone' field of the relevant outlook contacts. In this way, you don't have to keep an application running in the background to have custom ringtones so your phone can run nice and fast.
